Though it was, most likely, their initial face painting gimmick that propelled KISS into the front ranks of 1970´s supergroups, the band has continued to rock long after the clown faces have been wiped away. This behind-the-scenes documentary follows the immensely popular band on their 1990 concert tour, which promoted their twenty-third album, HOT IN THE SHADE. Frontman Gene Simmons and guitarist Paul Stanley are heavily featured, and candidly discuss the secrets of the band´s success and incredible longevity.
